Park Terrace, along with 18 other Kisco Senior Living Communities, in six states will serve as an official host to various Active Aging Week activities the week of September 25th – October 1st. Active Aging Week is organized by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), an association that supports professionals who develop wellness and fitness facilities and services for adults over 50. The annual health promotion celebrates individuals who live life as fully as possible within the six dimensions of wellness (physical, spiritual, cognitive/intellectual, social, emotional, professional/vocational/environmental) and embrace active-aging their daily life.
Kisco Senior Living is an ICAA member and has recently been recognized as an ICAA Champion Organization. This program is part of ICAA's Changing the Way We Age® Campaign, an initiative that aims to shift the way society perceives aging.
Park Terrace kicks off Active Aging Week on Monday, September 26th at 1:30pm with a Nutrition Lecture "14 Best Good for you Foods" by Jane Stephenson in the Commons Building; Tuesday, September 27th at 10am residents will participate in an Intercommunity Balloon Volleyball Tournament at Kisco’s Valencia Terrace community in Corona; Wednesday, September 28th, join Park Terrace for Drum Fusion with Melinda Rodriguez at 2:00pm in the Activity Room; Thursday, September 29th, attendees will enjoy a photography lecture and exhibit with Glen Harwick at 10:00am in the Commons and at 10:30am Fall Protection by Physical Therapist Katie Swailes from RSM Physical Therapy; and on Friday, September 30th join Park Terrace for live music with The Silverstons perform live at 2:30pm in the main Living Room.
