Bell Tower Foundation Honored
Full Description:
The Bell Tower Foundation was honored with a $5,000 grant on Monday, Jan. 29, by the Pacific Life Foundation. The grant was awarded in support of the Bell Tower Regional Community Center's upcoming development of a peer mediation program.
Working in partnership with Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate, the Saddleback Valley YMCA and the Institute for Conflict Management, the center's peer mediation program will help train youth interested in learning essential conflict resolution skills including understanding conflict, active listening, communicating feelings and creative problem solving. Eventually a panel of youths will be trained to serve as peer mediators that will help others resolve conflicts in a constructive and positive manner.
The Bell Tower Regional Community Center serves as a central community gathering place for residents of the Southeastern Orange County communities. As an intergenerational community center, the Bell Tower Regional Community Center offers a variety of classes, programs and rental opportunities to meet the needs of local residents.
Curt Stanley, president of The Bell Tower Foundation, accepted the grant at Pacific Life Foundation's 2007 Grant Reception.
