Local Residents can get FREE help Preparing Tax Forms From The Bell Tower Foundation (February 19, 2009) Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – Residents of all ages from RSM and surrounding communities can still receive tax assistance from The Bell Tower Foundation and the AARP Tax Aide group. The “Tax Preparation Assistance” program provides FREE assistance for low- and moderate-income taxpayers by preparing and filing federal and state income tax forms. It’s not too late to call! The Bell Tower Foundation currently provides tax preparation assistance every Wednesday in the COX Communications Technology Center at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center, located at 22232 El Paseo , (Civic Center) Rancho Santa Margarita. Preparation and filing assistance is available by appointment only in order to make sure that each individual gets the time and attention they require, and to limit wait times. Residents must meet certain guidelines to participate in this program and are encouraged to call for guidelines and criteria. “Tax assistance is provided by specially trained individuals who have been certified by the IRS for preparing both Federal and California state tax returns,” commented Nick Alivojvodic, Executive Director of The Bell Tower Foundation. Tax returns will be e-filed to ensure accurate delivery of the returns to the IRS and the Franchise Tax Board, so residents can expect speedy refunds via direct deposit.
