Early Voting in Rancho Santa Margarita
Full Description:
(Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) 2008 will be an exciting year from an electoral perspective as the Statewide Direct Primary approaches on June 3 and the General Election follows on November 4.
The City of Rancho Santa Margarita has been approved by the Registrar of Voters as an Early Voting Site. Early voting will take place at City Hall from May 18 – 27, except for weekends and holidays when the City’s early polling area will be closed. Early Voting allows any registered voter in Orange County the opportunity to vote in a polling place setting prior to Election Day. It is especially convenient for voters who believe they will not be able to vote at their polling place on Election Day.
Those voting in the Statewide Direct Primary will be casting their ballot to identify candidates who will advance to the General Election in November. Some of the offices on the June ballot include Congressional seats, State Senate and Assembly seats, Orange County Central Committee seats and two Orange County Supervisorial districts. Also on the ballot are Measures 98 and 99, pertaining to Eminent Domain.+
Are you ready to vote?
All residents who have declared a party affiliation are eligible to vote in the Statewide Direct Primary.
If you have moved since the last election, changed your name or your political party affiliation, you will be required to re-register in order to be eligible to participate in the upcoming elections.
If you are a “declined to state” voter, you may request a Republican, Democratic or American Independent ballot. Please contact the Orange County Registrar of Voters at 714.567.7600 or visit www.ocvote.com for more information.
Voter registration forms are available at City Hall, The Bell Tower Regional Community Center, Rancho Santa Margarita Library, Rancho Santa Margarita Post Office and at many retail establishments throughout the community. Still have questions? Please contact Molly McLaughlin, City of Rancho Santa Margarita, City Clerk, at 949.635.1806.
